Target's Most Recent Collaboration

MARK YOUR CALENDARS...
On December 20th, 2009, Target.com will be launching its most recent collaboration.  With whom will they be collaborating with you ask??  RODARTE, silly!!!!!

In 2006, the Berkeley-educated sisters, Kate and Laura Mulleavy, debuted their first show in New York.  They were an instant HIT.  Their 55-piece collection will be released under Target's GO International label.  GO has already featured much lauded collaborations with designers such as Erin Fetherston, Jovovich-Hawk, Rogan, Richard Chai, Jonathan Saunders, Thakoon, and Tracy Feith.

We all loved the Mulleavy sisters' Fall '09 collection, which featured pieces that appeared to have first been made, then deconstructed, and finally reconstructed backstage right before the show (in a good way).  A pair of boots from this collection can be seen in the popular "These Heels Weren't Made For Walking" video.

The December 20th line-launch is perfectly timed to cause an online frenzy right before the holidays.  Fashionistas must hurry to get a hold of ridiculously cheap staple items, ranging from $9.99 knee-highs to $79.99 leopard print jackets.

M-K & A SHOE MANIA!!!

I think we can all agree that the first collection of shoes by Elizabeth and James (for Steve Madden) weren't the best, in fact I think I saw some better looking shoes at Payless (before Christian Seriano), but for their sophomore collection of footwear Mary-Kate and Ashley have stepped it UP and come out with a great collection. All a girl has to do is order one of every shoe and she would be covered for every look for an entire season.

M-K & A have taken out all the gladiators (THANK GOD) and added very sleak and stylish heels, boots, flats, and anything else you can think of: metal heels, spike heels, exposed zippers, rugged boots, lace...

The shoes are not available for purchase as of yet, but they are available for pre-order at SAKS.com

GREAT JOB LADIES!!!!

Christine Staub

If the last name sounds familiar its because she is the daughter of Danielle Staub, the woman we all loved to hate on Brovo's The Real Housewives of NJ... The Daily has announced that Christine has signed with IMG Models, who expects the 5'10'' 10th grader to be on runways by this upcoming fashion week.

Alexander McQueen Fall '09 With Karlie Koss

We LOVE LOVE LOVED the freakishness of Alexander McQueens fall '09 RTW runway show, and now we get a sneak peak of his Fall '09 campaign with model Karlie Kloss, who just celebrated her 17th B-Day at Walt Disney World!! She looks amazing and at JUST 17 she is burning up the pages of every top magazine in the world and blazing down almost every runway.

Harvard Does Fashion

The ivy league college that was just on one of our favorite Brovo shows, NYC Prep, has signed a ten-year licensing deal with clothing manufacturer Wearwolf Group for a line of contemporary mens apparel. Remembering the Vanity Fair article written in June (Rich Harvard, Poor Harvard), we think this is a good looking but sad attempt to get the financial juices flowing again. Creative director, John Fowler, told WWD that Designs were made from pictures taken in the school yard at Harvard in the 60's. From what we can see the line isnt horrible, and the price point isnt too bad either, $165 for pants to $495 for sport coats.

GOOD LUCK HARVARD!

MILK is Taking Over Fashion Week!

The list of designers showing at the M.A.C at Milk fashion venue is growing and getting better by the minute. The free venue has added a second floor for presentations, installations, and video projections. Designers will not have to pay the $25,000 that they would have to when showing at Bryant Park and M.A.C is offering free makeup service.
So far the designers that will be showing at Milk include Alexander Wang, Erin Fetherston, Proenza Schouler, ThreeAsFour, Band of Outsiders, Preen, and Gareth Pugh.
